A2 Finish - SS Blowmold Neckring

Before and after examples of a stainless steel blowmold neck inserts. An A2 finish was provided on the finished parts. Extreme care is given to the parting-line and minimal stock removal insures we maintain detail and contour geometry in the finished tools.

Photo of a stainless steel blowmold neck insert. The insert was first roughed-in to remove most tool marks and then the company logo was laser engraved to a depth of about .030”. The inserts were then polished to an A2 finish taking care to maintain the sharpness of the parting-line and logo detail.

Mirror Finish Aluminum Blowmold

This photo shows a completed aluminum blowmold. Note the detail machined in the body of the blowmold. With our skilled and experienced staff we provided an A2 finish without excessive rounding of the machined detail to insure maximum sharpness of the detail in the blown bottle.

Combination Finish Closure Inserts

This photo of the closure mold inserts shows a combination finish. The inserts are polished to remove all tool marks and then polished to an A2 finish. The inserts are then lightly blasted with a fine glass bead to provide the desired matte finish on the molded part.

A2 Finish Closure Mold

This closure-lid tool represents a challenging polishing application because of the large number of standing ribs on the ID of the tool. Minimal stock removal was required to keep the ribs square and sharp while the entire ID had to be polished to a high quality A2 finish or better.
